The vertical logo should never be combined with the tagline.

CLEAR SPACE

In order to maintain the integrity of the logo and prevent it from appearing confined or restricted, you should leave as much clear space around it as possible, in all applications. All variations of the NHLA logo must be surrounded on all sides by clear space that is equal to the height of the “H” in the wordmark “NHLA”. No text, pattern or image is allowed to enter this space at any time.

To ensure that the NHLA logo is always legible, it should never be reproduced smaller than the following specified sizes in any application.

MEMBER LOGO

NHLA encourages the proper use of its logo by member firms. All Active, Associate and Sustaining members of are licensed to include the NHLA member logo in their visual communications to indicate that they are members of the association. 

The NHLA member logo must not be altered in any way, including colors, and should always be used in the proportion and configuration shown. 

While placement of the logo will vary according to specific design needs, great care must be given to ensure that the logo is always readable and that other graphics or design elements do not interfere. For example, the NHLA member logo must never be printed over a photograph or patterned background which would obscure its clarity and legibility.

GRADE CERTIFIED LOGO

Member firms who participate in NHLA’s voluntary quality assurance program are licensed to use the NHLA Grade Certified Logo in their marketing and promotional materials.

This unique symbol indicates that the company’s hardwood lumber products consistently meet or exceed NHLA standards in terms of piece count, footage and grade when examined by NHLA Inspectors.

PARTNERSHIP LOCKUPS

For partnerships, make sure that both logos have a similar visual weight, and respect the clear space of each logo. Use the letter “N” in from the wordmark as a spacing guide.

LOGO MISUSE

Do not compromise the overall look of the logo by rotating, skewing, or otherwise distorting in any way, including the addition of unnecessary and unattractive text decorations such as drop shadows and outlines. Here are several examples of ways the logo should never be used.

Never rotate the logo.

Never squash or stretch the logo.

Never resize any part of the logo.

Never use off-brand colors.

Never apply a drop shadow to the logo.

Never contain the wordmark in a box.
