LOGO CONCEPT

Our Logo is the combination of a geometric symbol and wordmark. The symbol is both the visual representation of the mass timber solutions we manufacture and our compass that keeps us constantly aligned with our core values.

As the most recognizable element of our visual identity, it is critical that our logo be used appropriately and consistently.

LOGO VARIANTS

In addition to the streamlined primary version, our Logo has two variants: a horizontal full version and a stacked full version. Neither variant is considered the preferred secondary version. When determining which variant to use, consider the vertical and horizontal space available as well as neighboring visual elements.

CLEAR SPACE

Clear space prevents type, imagery or other graphic elements from interfering with the legibility of our logo. No graphic elements should encroach the clear space around the logos. This space is defined as the height of the “S” in our horizontal and stacked logos, and the height of the upper diamond in our symbol.

BACKGROUND APPLICATIONS

When overlaying the logo on brand colors, always ensure there is ample contrast. When using the logo on an image, avoid placing the logo in areas with too much visual clutter or directly over a subject's face. Subtle gradient overlays may also be used to provide the necessary contrast.

The following examples are approved combinations.

SCALING

Our logo is designed to maintain clarity across a range of sizes. While it can be enlarged indefinitely without loss of quality, be careful when scaling it down. To ensure that our logo remains legible and effective even at smaller scales, please follow the minimum size requirements specified below.

MINIMUM SIZE

To ensure that our logo is always legible, it should never be reproduced smaller than the following specified sizes in any application.

2"

2.5"

For partnerships, make sure that both logos have a similar visual weight, and respect the clear space of each logo. Use the letter “O” in from the wordmark as a spacing guide.

BADGE LOGO

Our Badge Logo serves as a secondary emblem for our brand, intended for limited discretionary use. This version of our logo adds a bit of hometown pride and visual interest to brand applications such as apparel.

LOGO ICONS

Both our primary avatar for social media and favicon for websites feature the Crosswood symbol in Limestone and Slate, centered in a field of Appalachian Orange. When the masking shape is a circle, the size of the symbol should be equal to 65% the height of the masking shape. When the masking shape is a rounded square, the size of the symbol should be equal to 75% the height of the masking shape.

LOGO WINDOW

The symbol can be used as a window, or image/video mask, in communications. Placing images or videos within the symbol requires careful consideration to ensure the image works within the unique shape of the symbol.

LOGO MISUSE

Do not compromise the overall look of the logo by rotating, skewing, or otherwise distorting in any way, including the addition of unnecessary and unattractive text decorations such as drop shadows and outlines. Here are several examples of ways the logo should never be used.

Never rotate the logo.

Never squash or stretch the logo.

Never resize any part of the logo.

Never use off-brand colors.

Never apply a drop shadow to the logo.

Never contain the wordmark in a box.
